TECHNICAL TEACHER APPLICANTS

Although a teaching certificate is not required for employment for technical teachers, successful candidates are required to have a minimum of two years of trade experience, pass a trade competency examination (written and performance $350.00) and enroll in a teacher preparation program administered by the Pennsylvania State University Professional Personnel Development Center for Career & Technical Education that includes college coursework of approximately nine college credits per year and leads to a Pennsylvania Department of Education Vocational Teaching Certificate.  Technical teachers are expected to provide both theory and practical teaching activities that meet state standards and Chapter 339 technical training regulations.  Technical teachers are also required to solicit and maintain professional business relationships through Occupational Advisory Committees.  For more information on requirements and educational obligations, see "Steps to Becoming a Vocational Education Teacher"  website.

Academic Programs - PA Teaching Certificate or 4-Year College Degree Required

Teaching Certificate is NOT required for Technical Programs.  Job related experience in areas such as Carpentry, HVAC, Automotive, Computer Technology, Cosmetology, Health Assisting, etc is a plus.  Successful applicants must be able to furnish valid clearances.  A Pennsylvania Department of Education is not necessary for academic classes; however, a four-year college degree in any area is required.  Email letter of interest, PA Standard Teaching Application, resume and transcripts to the address above.  Current compensation is $95/day.

 COMPUTER TECHNICIAN
 
 Full-Time, 12-Month Position

Starting Salary:  $12.75 to $13.25 per Hour

The successful candidate should possess an Associate's Degree or minimum 3 years experience.  Certifications such as A+, Net+, Cisco, etc. considered a plus.  Install and configure local area data communications networks which may carry voice and video communications following organization standards.  Must be capable of installing, operating and maintaining network services, routers, concentrators, hubs, switches, modems and other detwork devices and resolve communications problems.  Must be familiar with Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008 and applications relating to the Windows Server environment.  These applications may include, but are not limited to, Web Applications, Exchange Mail and Network-Server Applications.  Requied to manage help desk by responding to user questions and explaining the oepration of network applications and equipment.  Must have ability to understand and assist with administration of an Active Directory server environment as well as the maintenance of standards and documentation.
